Retainer terms

How the monthly retainer works

Plain terms, agreed in writing before work starts. Final wording is in your agreement.

How is the retainer structured?

A fixed monthly fee for a defined team capacity (for example, one lead engineer and two engineers). Scope within that capacity is prioritized with you every sprint.

What is the minimum commitment?

[MINIMUM TERM, e.g. an initial 3 months, then month to month] with [NOTICE PERIOD, e.g. 30 days] notice. TODO(verify).

How is it invoiced?

Monthly in advance in [CURRENCY]. Out-of-scope costs, such as third-party licenses or cloud hosting, are passed through at cost with your prior approval. TODO(verify).

How to start

From first call to first demo in about three weeks

  1. Day 0

    Strategy call. We confirm fit, goals, and the right engagement model.

  2. Days 1–3

    Mutual NDA signed. You share context; we send a written proposal with team shape and first-month plan.

  3. Days 4–7

    Agreement signed. Repositories, tools, and communication channels set up.

  4. Week 2

    Kick-off. Discovery starts (Build with us) or engineers join your stand-ups (Extend your team).

  5. End of week 2–3

    First demo of working output.

Contract essentials

NDA before details

We sign a mutual NDA before you share anything confidential. Happy to use yours.

You own the IP

All code, designs, and documentation are assigned to you under the agreement. Code lives in your repositories from day one.

Security by default

Least-privilege access, MFA everywhere, secrets in a vault, encrypted devices, and no client data in unapproved tools, including AI tools.

Code quality standards

Mandatory code review, automated tests in CI, linting and static analysis, documented architecture decisions, and dependency scanning.
