The problem
VPN apps live or die on one moment: tapping "connect" and having it work, every time. The app needed native tunnel configuration, clear connection states, and App Store compliance for a VPN product.
The approach
- Configured and managed tunnels through NEVPNManager and the NetworkExtension framework.
- Modeled connection states explicitly so the UI always reflected the real tunnel status.
- Handled on-demand rules, reconnection, and network changes (Wi-Fi to cellular).
- Prepared the build for Apple's VPN app review requirements.
